Testimonials

“I really like the comfort and lack of regimentation and friendliness of the management and staff alike.”

Ron and Angie return 'home' to familiar faces

OUR Eastbourne retirement development has a new – but very familiar – management team in place.

After nearly three years away, Ron and Angie Peach have returned to The Hawthorns in Carew Road, happy to be back to where they consider home.

The couple moved to Eastbourne from South Carolina in America in June 2006 to take over the management of the Hawthorns which offers residents a unique retirement lifestyle where all day-to-day bills including food, housekeeping, utilities and excursions are covered by one simple, all-inclusive monthly rental.

They left in 2008 to prepare the opening of the new Hawthorns development in Braintree, Essex followed by a spell at The Hawthorns in Clevedon, Somerset. But now they have unpacked their suitcase again back in Eastbourne – and delighted to have done so.

Ron said: “It’s great to be back among so many familiar friendly faces. Many of the residents and staff were here when we went away. Since we arrived from America, we have always considered Eastbourne our place so it’s very much like coming home.”

The couple met when Ron was stationed at Greenham Common whilst in the American Air Force. They married and settled in America, working Hawthorns Retirement in the States for a year before taking on the challenge of a move to England.

Their role sees them responsible for all aspects of managing the development of 100-plus apartments and bungalows.
