The Hawthorns Head Chef Announced as Runner Up Veggie Chef of the Year
Following his success at the 2020 ceremony, Grant Burton, Head Chef at the Hawthorns Braintree, has been awarded runner up in the categories of ‘Veggie Care Chef of the Year’ and ‘Most Innovative Vegetarian Dish’ at the Vegetarian for Life Awards for Excellence in Vegetarian Care Catering 2021.
The awards, which first launched in 2016, highlight the importance of catering well for older vegetarians and vegans and recognise those pioneering in modern care catering.
Head Chef, Grant, is passionate about providing tasty, nutritious, beautifully presented vegetarian food for his residents. Each menu has a vegetarian option to make the menu exciting and inspiring, with residents regularly opting for the vegetarian option due to the variety on offer.
Grant commented, “I endeavour to use seasonal ingredients wherever possible, sourcing from local suppliers to support our local community and ensure the freshness of the produce. I’m very proud to be a finalist for a 2nd year running but would not have got there without the hard work and dedication of my team.”.
