Why buy when you can rent

“It's lovely not having to worry about paying the bills or doing any housework. I came here and it's all provided for me, I have not got to worry about getting to the shops - although I could go every morning (on the private coach) if I wanted to. The only thing I have to pay is my private telephone bill.”

The Hawthorns in Clevedon is holding an arts and crafts exhibition, which is open to the public and showcases the many talents of its residents.

The exhibition is on from Friday 26th October to Sunday 28th October and features exhibits which were created as far back as the 1950s, to works of art that have been created today.

The arts and crafts on show range from a sketch created of the late Princess Diana by John Crewdson to handmade 1960s gold teaspoons created by Sandra Ablett. In total there are over 60 exhibits including fine art, woodwork, metalwork, crafts, knitting, pottery, needlework and photography.

On Friday 26th October and Sunday 28th October, visitors to the arts and crafts exhibition will be able to enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and homemade cookies.

Goldie Tripney, manager at the Hawthorns said:

“We have discovered an amazing array of artistic talents within our community and also a little bit of unique history. Everyone is welcome to come and view the exhibition and enjoy tea, coffee and cookies on us on Friday and Sunday. ”
