The Hawthorns Braintree Announces New Charity of the Year

"

Every year, the Hawthorns Braintree choose a new Charity of the Year so there is a focus on fundraising.

Nominations are put in by residents and a charity is picked ‘out of a hat’. Last years’ charity was the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity where a massive £2,986 was raised!

This year, we are delighted that the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity has been chosen.

The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity support people living with cancer in Essex. They have support centres, where there is an opportunity to talk to somebody. The charity offers complimentary therapies where people living with cancer and their families can receive holistic treatments and counselling and can also access support groups, workshops and courses where people can meet and talk to others who understand what they are going through.

Mary Wild, Ambassador at the charity visited and gave a talk to our residents about the incredible work they do. We have raised £466.22 already, which was handed to Mary and is the start of our fundraising journey this year.
