The Hawthorns Eastbourne has celebrated creativity and community spirit through its annual Christmas card competition, held in partnership with Langney Primary Academy.
This year’s winning design was created by talented young artist Oghenero (Nero) Akpomudje, whose colourful and vibrant card captured the festive spirit perfectly. Nero was presented with a £25 Waterstones voucher during a special assembly at Langney Primary Academy, attended by representatives from the Hawthorns Eastbourne.
In recognition of the school’s contribution, the Hawthorns also donated £250 towards the new TrimTrail project, supporting opportunities for pupils to enjoy outdoor play and activity.
The winning card will be shared with residents, families, and local community groups, spreading festive cheer across Eastbourne.
Ian Turnbull, General Manager at the Hawthorns Eastbourne, said, “We are proud to support our local school and delighted to see such creativity from its pupils. Nero’s design will bring joy to our residents and the wider community this Christmas.”
