Shouldn't life be one long holiday when you retire...

Top artist helping others brush up on their talent

KEEN amateur artists will have an opportunity to learn first-hand from an expert on Tuesday (December 6) when renowned Essex artist, James Merriott, paints and talks for residents and visitors at The Hawthorns retirement development in Braintree.

James attended the recent autumn fair at The Hawthorns and was so popular, he has been invited back to talk about his life and his painting and put on a practical demonstration.

Geraldine Channon, Events Co-ordinator at The Hawthorns, said: “James is one of the county’s top artists. He has been painting watercolours for 35 years and produces a yearly calendar, The Beauty of Essex. It should be a fascinating and informative afternoon for all.”

James will be at The Hawthorns at Meadow Park, from 2.45pm. Further details can be obtained on 01376 335500.
