The Gardens Eastbourne

Adjacent to The Hawthorns, this beautifully designed retirement hamlet of 10 bungalows and 4 maisonettes is our newest development on Bedfordwell Road, Eastbourne. A combination of truly independent living combined with the serviced-apartments of The Hawthorns makes it quite unique.

Residents of The Gardens choose from a bungalow or maisonette where they can enjoy an independent retirement lifestyle. They have all the benefits of living in a high quality property with its own private garden (or balcony) together with the freedom to make use of all the facilities within The Hawthorns as and when they wish. The Hawthorns live-in management team is always on hand if required.

As with residents of The Hawthorns, properties at The Gardens are rented on a monthly basis. There is just one all-inclusive payment each month. This is explained in more detail under the section The Monthly Charge Explained.

"This is really the best of both worlds", explain managers Peter Harrison and Kiki Grigat. "Residents of The Gardens are free to join in on any of our activities from Tai Chi to Bridge and be with us for our candle light suppers which we hold 2 – 3 times a year or come along on our private coach for excursions. If they do not wish to cook at any time, they can enjoy meals in The Hawthorns dining room. Because maintenance is included in the monthly rent, we will of course look after their property, mow the lawn, and keep it safe and secure while they are on holiday."

Both bungalows and maisonettes have two bedrooms, an en-suite and main bathroom and a large open plan lounge and dining area. There is also a fully fitted kitchen, allowing residents to lead a completely independent lifestyle within this unique environment. Each bungalow and downstairs maisonette have their own private garden and upper maisonettes have a private balcony.
