Testimonials

“It's lovely not having to worry about paying the bills or doing any housework. I came here and it's all provided for me, I have not got to worry about getting to the shops - although I could go every morning (on the private coach) if I wanted to. The only thing I have to pay is my private telephone bill.”

The Hawthorns Eastbourne Charity Fete 2014

Cream teas, a selection of barbeque foods and performances from the Eastbourne Silver Band are all set to feature at The Hawthorns’ annual charity fete this weekend.

The fundraising event, which takes place at The Hawthorns Retirement complex in Carew Road, Eastbourne, starts at 2:30pm on Saturday (19th July 2014) and will showcase the work of local and national charities including St Wilfred’s Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

As well as helping a number of worthwhile causes, visitors will be able to enjoy performances from the Eastbourne Silver Band, play games and browse the many varied stalls. Cream teas and a barbeque will also be served.

Proceeds from the event, which promises an afternoon of fun for all, will be donated to a charity of the residents’ choice.
