Why buy when you can rent

“It's lovely not having to worry about paying the bills or doing any housework. I came here and it's all provided for me, I have not got to worry about getting to the shops - although I could go every morning (on the private coach) if I wanted to. The only thing I have to pay is my private telephone bill.”

New General Manager Appointed at The Hawthorns Clevedon

The Hawthorns Clevedon.

The Hawthorns Clevedon Retirement residency in Somerset is delighted to announce the appointment of their new General Manager, Tim Somer. Tim takes over the reins from Goldie Tripney who is retiring after leading the retirement community there for over fifteen years. All at the Hawthorns were sorry to see her go as she had become something of an institution, but wish her all the best for a well-earned retirement with her family.

New head man Tim brings with him a significant track record in hospitality, operations and customer service, having enjoyed a highly successful career in the hotel sector working for leading organisations such as De Vere, Hilton and the Thistle Group.

With broad experience in a variety of senior management positions, Tim is looking forward to bringing a fresh approach and his considerable customer service understanding to the recently refurbished Hawthorns in Clevedon.

Said Tim, “I’m pleased to be joining The Hawthorns at Clevedon, which has a fantastic reputation for being a leader in the retirement living marketplace. I’m keen to focus on enhancing our customer lifestyle here and to helping our residents to enjoy a quality retirement and a great social life amongst friends.”

Tim moved to Bristol fifteen years ago with work and lives locally to Clevedon so knows the area well. He lists his hobbies and interests as music (particularly attending live music events), local history and swimming (which he used to pursue at a competitive level).
