Bristol residents are invited to support the "45 in 24" bed pull and sponsored walk, which is part of Park Funishers "45 Appeal" to raise £45,000 for St Peter's Hospice in Bristol. The bed pull will cover 45 miles around Bristol in 24 hours and starts on 19 July 2012, outside The Hawthorns in Clevedon, North Somerset at 6.30pm.

The 45 Appeal was set up to celebrate Park Furnishers 45th anniversary and is a year long event. The 45 mile walk is in memory of Leonard Coller who died recently and was a resident at The Hawthorns. Leonard was the founder of Park Furnishers, the well-established Bristol furniture retailer. A team of Leonard Coller's family will pull the bed around Bristol, as a bed was the first item to be sold at Park Furnishers 45 years ago. The start takes place at The Hawthorns Retirement apartments, 18 to 19 Elton Road, Clevedon, which was Leonard Coller's last home. The public are invited cheer on the 45 in 24 team.

Leonard's family aim to raise £45,000 for St Peter's Hospice and are well on their way having already raised £14,000.

The 45 in 24 team will set off from The Hawthorns at 6.30pm on Thursday 19th July and make their way around various parts of Bristol.

The Finish will take place at Park Furnishers, Willway Street, Bedminster on 20th July between 6pm and 8pm. Everyone is invited to come along and join the celebrations at Park Furnishers.

Goldie Tripney, Manager of The Hawthorns said; "It is extremely fitting that the 45 in 24 sponsored bed pull will start at The Hawthorns. Leonard and his wife were very popular residents at The Hawthorns and took part in the many fundraising activities we put on. Holding the start of the 45 in 24 bed pull is part of our packed events calendar, which form part of our vibrant community. The Hawthorns will be donating £500 towards the sponsored walk and organising a collection leading up to and during the event."
