Have you got what it takes to be James Bond?

Have you got what it takes to be James Bond?A VERY special person is being sought for a very special assignment in Braintree on New Year’s Eve: James Bond, no less.

A super-suave ladies’ man who prefers his Martinis shaken not stirred and with a patter to turn ladies weak at the knees – complete with tux and red roses for the ladies – is the most unusual item on the shopping list of The Hawthorns retirement complex at Meadow Park.

The development is hosting a New Year’s Eve casino evening for residents and guests, complete with casino table, big band and food. All money raised from the evening will go to the Help for Heroes charity. To add the finishing touch to the evening, organisers are looking for a James Bond to spend the evening spreading his charm.

Geraldine Channon, Events Co-ordinator at The Hawthorns, said: “The evening should be a really stylish way to see in the New Year and we thought it would be complete with a James Bond-type host. We’re looking for a more mature Bond – 50-plus – who will spend the evening being his typically charming self. We’re not expecting any trouble so he won’t need to come armed with his famous Beretta, but we can provide him with an arm full of roses to hand out to the ladies and a delightful meal to sit down to with his Miss Moneypenny. The patter he will have to supply though!”

Anyone who fancies himself as a bit of a Bond and is available on New Year’s Eve can contact Geraldine on 01376 335500 to discuss his prospects.
