Why buy when you can rent

“It's a wonderful way of life. With so much taken care of, my partner and I are free to enjoy our lives to the full and that's exactly what we do. I can't think of anywhere I would rather live.”

Three charities to benefit from weekend events

THREE charities are set to benefit from a weekend of fun events taking place at Essex’s award winning retirement facility near Braintree.

While most people will be spending the bank holiday weekend relaxing, staff at The Hawthorns at Meadow Park will be working overtime hosting these events.

On Saturday (May 28) at 3pm, The Hawthorns’ team of chefs will be showing off their skills in a dessert extravaganza, preparing a wide selection of mouth-watering desserts. Tickets are £4 and all proceeds will go to Age UK.

Still on a gourmet theme, the following day the chefs will be dishing up a great Sunday lunch at 12.45. Tickets are £7 and all proceeds will go to Essex Air Ambulance.

Then, on the Sunday evening at 7.30, a cabaret show from Mike & Lou – direct from the cruise ships – will round off the day. Tickets are £4 for the evening with all proceeds going to Farleigh Hospice.

Geraldine Channon, Events Coordinator at The Hawthorns, where residents are offered a unique retirement lifestyle akin to a luxury, full-service apartment experience covered by one simple, all-inclusive monthly rental, said: "We’d love to welcome as many guests as possible to join our residents at these events. They promise to be great fun and we hope to raise a lot of money for three very worthy causes."

Tickets for all three events are available in advance on 01376 335500.
