Essex Retirement Development Scoops Award
THE HAWTHORNS at Meadow Park, Braintree has won the award for Best Retirement Development for its county in the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2009.
The award to the developers Holiday Retirement follows the success of the two other award winning facilities in Clevedon and Eastbourne. The Hawthorns stands at the entrance to the neighbouring Meadow Park retirement village, close to the bustling market town of Braintree.
The award was won not just for the quality of the building itself, but also for the unique all-inclusive lifestyle that The Hawthorns offers to their residents. It is designed for people looking to make the very most of their retirement years by providing three freshly prepared meals each day in the dining room and a housekeeping and linen service, together with the hairdressing and beauty salon. There is also a choice of regular and scheduled trips in a private coach.
There are no long-term lease or financial obligations with living at any of the three Holiday Retirement developments, prices start at £1,550 per calendar month and they operate a pet-friendly policy. "The concept of retirement lifestyle for active retirees is still quite new in the UK,” says Managing Director, Mark Riddington.
"We see retirement as a new beginning - the beginning of the time of your life when you can free up your days to enjoy the things you love to do the most."
