In renting you do not have all the issues and costs of buying, estate agents, solicitor’s fee, and the like. You can release your capital from your current property to enjoy your retirement; or rent out your current property to provide an income for you. And we only ask for 30 days notice if you wish to leave The Hawthorns.
Another unique aspect of The Hawthorns is the ability to change apartments if you find that the one you originally chose no longer suits your changing needs – at no cost and hassle free.
And another unique benefit is that you can stay up to 2 weeks in any other of The Hawthorns facilities in the UK and the US completely free of charge (subject to availability). A key benefit that many of our residents take full advantage of.

Accommodation options are spacious studios and one or two bedroom apartments. And we now offer 14 detached bungalows and maisonettes at The Gardens*, adjacent to The Hawthorns, Eastbourne.
* At The Gardens in Eastbourne, the new Hamlet of fully serviced retirement bungalows and maisonettes, the all-inclusive rental does not include meals. These properties have fully fitted kitchens but if they wish residents can opt into having meals in the dining room at The Hawthorns for a nominal charge.
